Celtic Bells - enricHment event sponsered by GO DIRECT
See them live on November 21, at 1:00, when the Bells perform for Grades 3-5.
The Lynch school community experienced a musically enriched morning last Wednesday when Jerry and Nancy Bell, a husband and wife storytelling team, shared both Scottish and Irish ancestry. Their two children joined them in song and dance for the 45-minute performance.
The family has been delighting audiences of all ages in libraries, classrooms, festivals and coffee-houses. Their very popular school shows use Celtic story and song as exciting educational tools. The performance links to American cultural roots and also connects to Appalachian music and dance. The family offers an energetic, multi-dimensional show while maintaining a high level of audienc e involvement. Their first album won a prestigious ‘Parents Choice’ award.
Carrie Ehrbar, a Lynch parent, commented that: “The Bells were great! They captivated the audience -- children and teachers alike -- with music, dancing, and storytelling. They even had the whole crowd Irish step dancing! The teachers seemed to enjoy it as much as the children.”
A member of the Lynnfield Public Schools called the performance “a magical and rich experience we shall remember for a long time".
